Ski Grebenzen - Our favourite ski area

Some places feel like coming home immediately. For us, that is Sankt Lambrecht.
We – a family with four children – are true lovers of this special place in the mountains. Every winter we look forward to standing in the snow together. Skiing together, laughing, being outside and then warming up in a cozy mountain hut… that is our winter happiness.

Ski to your doorstep

What us chalet so special? You literally step out of the door in the morning with your skis on – no lugging, no stress, no car ride, just straight onto the slopes.

The Grebenzen ski area is at your feet: clear, quiet and perfect for families – but also very nice for couples, friends or solo skiers looking for cosiness, space and relaxed winter sports fun. No hassle or queues, but straight on to the next descent.

Our children learned to ski here in small groups. The ski school is really great – with sweet, patient teachers. After one week they were already confident on their skis. It feels nice, safe and familiar to see them skiing around here.

Always snow, always fun

Thanks to modern snow cannons, the slopes are Sankt Lambrecht is almost always perfect. Even when nature isn't quite as generous with snow, we can still ski to our heart's content.

And we like to take a break in one of the cozy mountain huts - such as Heuschupf'n or Gruberalm, within walking distance of the chalet. There you can enjoy warm mulled wine or hot chocolate, a bowl of steaming soup or just the peace and quiet. But lunch in the chalet of course it can also be very easy.

For the sporty types: the Pabstinhang

For those looking for a bit more of a challenge, there is the Pabstinhang – one of the most beautiful descents in Austria. This piste is suitable for official FIS competitions such as Super-G and slalom, and even World Cup skiers like to train here. A great experience if you like sporty skiing!

But not everyone has to ski

What we like about this place is that non-skiers can also enjoy it to the fullest.

When grandpa and grandma come along, they have a wonderful time here. They take beautiful walks in the area, visit the old monastery of Sankt Lambrecht, run some errands in the village, or watch the kids on the slopes. Everything is easily accessible, even without skis.

And of course they like to join the restaurants for a warm lunch or a drink in the sun. Enjoying together is the main focus here - whether you are on skis or not.

New Year's Eve: magical in the mountains

Celebrating New Year's Eve in Sankt Lambrecht is truly something special. Around New Year's Eve, the village bustles with fun activities. For children, there's an ice skating rink on the village pond, where they can have a blast. At the bottom of the rink, all sorts of festivities are also organized, such as the cheerful Bauernsilvester (Farmers' New Year's Eve) and a festive New Year's Eve party.

And at midnight? Then you can watch from the balcony or the window of the chalet enjoy a beautiful firework over the mountains. The silence of the snow, the clear air, and the view from the chalet make it a moment you won't soon forget.
