The Gruber Alm near our holiday home is a classic for us. After a hike or a day of skiing, this is the perfect place to unwind. Think of a good cappuccino with warm Apfelstrudel, a cool drink on the terrace, or an Austrian meal. Children can have a great time here in the playground.

Do you want to dine with a panoramic view of the mountains? Then the Grebenzenhaus is the place to be. The sun terrace is fantastic and the kitchen uses fresh, local ingredients.

The Murauerhütte is highly recommended for true mountain lovers. From here, you can enjoy fantastic hiking with hearty mountain dishes and a beautiful view upon your return.

7. The leisure inn – child-friendly restaurant halfway Sankt Lambrecht – Murau

The favorite restaurant of our children, also because of Mini and Peggy, the owners' dogs who often sleep under the pizza oven. While the children play at the playground and the lake, you can enjoy the peace and quiet.

On weekends, they serve delicious pizzas – a big hit with us. And according to our daughter, they have the best Kaiserschmarren in all of Austria here.

8. Lercher's Wirtshaus – atmospheric restaurant in Murau

This place has a special meaning for us: here we celebrated the purchase of Almchalet AlpenglückPerhaps that makes it extra special, but the atmosphere here is really warm and welcoming.

The cuisine combines traditional Austrian dishes with modern influences.

9. Ristorante Pizzeria da Silvano – Italian in Murau

In the mood for something other than Austrian? This Italian restaurant The Murau region is perfect for a long evening of dining.

Good wine, fresh pasta, and a relaxed atmosphere make this an ideal place for a night out. The prices are slightly higher, but so is the quality of the food.

10. Etrachsee trout station – Krakow

At the beautiful Etrachsee, you can enjoy fresh trout and char, as well as regional meat specialties such as Almo beef and game dishes.
